crazy things you did for love - part 2

This entry is a continuation of Mimi's blog. After rereading Mimi's amusing entry, I decided to add more to what she has written as I realized, and so did my 2 other friends, that the list doesn't just end in number 10. So here goes...

11. It's his birthday. Had your head ruled over your heart that fateful day, you wouldn't have bothered at all. But no. You just flew in from that tiny little city up north and you found yourself dropping by duty free at Changi to buy him a birthday present - no less than his fave drink. After months of keeping it a secret, you nonchalantly mentioned it to the surprise of your friends. After all, you don't really buy birthday gifts even for your closest friends.

12. He asked you to go malling with him on a weekend and you willingly agreed. Even if you desperately wanted to go to Glorietta because it will be easier for you to take bus or fx home to Laguna, you found yourself taking a cab from Makati to Robinson's Place Ermita because that is where he wanted to go. You didn't realize how unfair it was for you to travel for 2 long hours just to get there while it would only take him 5 minutes to reach the mall. But still, you chose to be with him.

13. It's a Sunday and you were getting ready to go back to Manila after spending your weekend with him. However, he asked you to stay for one more night, which means you had to leave on Monday morning before the sun rises so you could go home, change into office clothes and go to work. Since you can't really say no to him, you hit the mall, shopped for an entire new outfit and left for work the following morning.

14. When he said he wanted to go to this beautiful but rather expensive vacation spot, you got so excited about the idea that you started looking for nice resorts to stay at. You wanted the best water bungalow so you convinced yourself that it really is okay even if it would cost you USD1,000 a night. Good thing the plan didn't come to pass.

15. You wanted to do things that he loved doing so when he asked you to go hiking with him and his friends, you said yes without second thought. You even bought yourself a new hiking bag. You endured the difficulty of the hike and the ensuing pain in your thighs that made walking extremely hard.

16. He sent you a text message saying his phone line might be disconnected soon due to nonpayment. Of course you couldn't stand not hearing from him all day long so you apparated to the nearest Globe Telecom office and settled the bill. Whew, problem solved!

17. He said he couldn't pick you up on Friday after work because it will be too expensive for him to go all the way to your workplace, have dinner and go back to his place again. But since you really like the feeling of having someone wait for you at the office lobby and braving that traffic at Coastal with your boyfriend sitting next to you, you told him you will pay for his fare going to Ortigas and of course, back to his place.

18. You are known for flaking out on appointments at the last minute and most of the time, nobody can force you to go. But when he asks you to go out, you cancel all other appointments you have to the dismay of your friends.

The list goes on and on but one thing is certain - love conquers all. In the game of love, it doesn't really matter whether you are smart, beautiful, rich, jologs, ugly, rational, hopeless romatic or even coldhearted. We all fall victim to its profound magic.
